About Me

My name is Mona and I'm a yoga teacher with a background in geriatric nursing. I speak English and Arabic and am able to offer classes in both languages. I was diagnosed at an early age with an autoimmune disease, and as a result I lived through a great deal of stress, pain and discomfort. Nothing really helped me overcome those challenges like yoga did. Because I personally experienced the great benefits of doing yoga on the psychological and physical levels, I felt that I could extend that by becoming a certified teacher and helping others benefit from yoga as well.

I began my yoga career back in 2010, and since moving to Canada in 2019 I sought professional certification (200 hr Yoga Teacher Training Program, BreathingSpace Yoga Studio), which I attained in the spring of 2021. At Mona's Yoga Studio, I want to help all people live a happier and healthier life through practicing different kinds of yoga. Combined with my background as a geriatric nurse, I can offer senior-focused yoga to help them deal with aches, pain and general effects of aging, such as osteoporosis, by strengthening the bones through regularly practiced yoga.

Yoga is also a great stress reliever as it helps you to let go of any tension that may be stuck in your body, like the back, neck and shoulders. I aim to help people become more resilient, strong, independent and active.

Yoga has changed my life for the better, and it could change yours too!
